Prior to joining the Market Designs team, Kerry Hayden was Director Corporate Product Planning at Worldspan. He has also held other Worldspan roles as Special Projects lead for the office of the CEO, Director of Corporate Sales and Marketing, and Market Development Manager for Wireless Travel Products. He was instrumental in creating selling strategies that enabled the recontracting of Worldspan’s Trip Manager customers and retention of corporate GDS customers including Federated Department Stores and Cargill.
Kerry played a tremendous role in the development of corporate eCommerce at Worldspan and worked to formulate the team that contracted more than 600 new customers for its corporate online product, Trip Manager. He started in the travel industry as the account lead and market manager for hotel systems marketing. He was successful in developing a strategy that led to a portfolio of accounts totaling $6M of a total company revenue line in hotels of $45M. His strategy to educate his customers on all aspects of how the product reduced their distribution cost helped him to keep sales rising by an average of 15% during his 2 years in that position.
Kerry has been an entrepreneur and owned and operated Stream of Consciousness Koffiehuis and I Dolci Catering. He developed the concept, business plan and secured venture funding for the company, which was sold in 1995. He began his career in sales and marketing with 3M and moved on to IBM. He holds an MBA in International Business from the University of South Carolina and a BA in Chemistry and French from Emory University. He is fluent in French and has received certifications from New York University in Paris in French Language and Civilization and a Diplôme Supérieur de Français des Affaires from the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
