Mike Lewis has more than 30 years in the travel and transportation industries.  He began his career in various technical positions with Trans World Airlines in their Data Center.  His positions were primarily in mainframe systems support.  He was a principal on the team for converting the Commercial and Reservation System (PARS) to an IBM mainframe infrastructure.  Mike moved up the technical ranks at TWA and was given the role of Vice President, Communications Networks where he was responsible for all TWA/PARS network operations.  His role included management of all data and voice infrastructures that supported the airline and its travel agent network.  This responsibility included management from the terminal all the way through to the network backbone.

 

When Worldspan was formed from the partnership of Delta, TWA and Northwest, Mike resumed his career in Atlanta, building Worldspan’s Data Center in consort with Delta Airlines, who shared the space.  This project was completed on time and within budget.  He spent his spare time building much of the infrastructure that still supports the Worldspan internal technical operations.  Once the PARS/Worldspan operations were consolidated, Mike moved to the role of Director/Technical Operations, which included all operations and support for the travel agency desktop.

 

Mike’s next major role at Worldspan was to take on ownership of all call centers in addition to the Technical Services group.  He managed 18 call centers worldwide, with the main center in the US and others throughout Europe, Asia and Latin America.  During his time in this role, he was responsible for implementing complete redundancy among all centers, which was successfully completed in 2002.

 

Mike received his undergraduate and MBA degrees from Rockhurst College and he started his career as a soldier in the United States Army.
